Hello friends and family. So, for those wondering the story of how this all began (minus the details)... Lets just say. Soldier + R&R (Rest and Recreation) + Christmas Break = BABY!
Some women don't figure out they are pregnant until well after their missed period. For me, I knew instantly. I was extremely tired and couldn't seem to wake myself even with a pot of coffee. So, just in case, I cut out drinking alcohol completely and slowed down on my caffeine intake. Went with my mother to pee on a stick (or two)...and BOOM! PREGGERS!
When I called my husband Kyle to tell him the news, his first words were "holy crap, is it a boy?!"
Um... hunny, we won't know that for awhile. Ah, men. He's so....cute. Can you tell it's our first?
I scheduled an appointment with my family doctor to get a blood test (just to be sure), and the next day he called me to confirm the results. Of course, the natural reaction is to be happy, and I totally was! However, I'm nervous for the fact that my husband is in the army and stationed in Colorado. BUT, he'll be coming home to Indiana on September 28th! Yeah, perfect planning babe... I'm due September 18th. Uh... Rain check?
Appointment #1: Prenatal Visit
Date: February 13th, 2012
Pre-baby Weight: 118lbs
NOW: 125.0lbs
Total Weight Gain: 7lbs
My mother went with me to my first prenatal appointment at 8 weeks 6 days. We went over family history and scheduled a blood test (they take SO much blood and test you for EVERYTHING).
Due to BOTH Kyle and I's family history of twins, the doctor let us get an ultrasound. ONLY ONE!
Mother was disappointed (she's a twin), but God doesn't give us more than we can handle. Right now, one is plenty. ;)
My next appointment is March 6th at exactly 12 weeks. I'll keep track with all the progress. Feel free to follow this blog, comment and enjoy these beautiful moments with me! If you're expecting as well, I'd love to keep in touch and share ideas and pointers!
I can't wait to meet our baby :)
Love.
